Astel Systems, an expanding Umhlanga based software company has recently partnered with Microsoft as part of its AppFactory Programme, a software skills development apprenticeship programme to improve the state of software development in South Africa and create a talent pipeline for the business sector to absorb and employ the interns in the formal market..
Astel Systems is therefore looking to hire talented and passionate young future software developers on its AppFactory Programme on an internship basis to give them a chance to harness and develop software development skills, through a focused hands-on approach which involves working on real software development projects and, under the supervision and mentorship of fully dedicated mentors
Duties & Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be required to conclude an Internship Agreement for a period of up to 9 (nine) months and participate in project teams and with projects within the AppFactory Programme.
All candidates are at a minimum required to have the following;
- Grade 12 (matric) or equivalent certificate and
- Basic knowledge and practical skills in software development and coding
The ideal candidates should ideally possess the following:
- A passion for software development and coding
- A passion for technology
- Problem solving and analytical skills
Desired Experience & Qualification
The following additional qualifications/skills/knowledge will be advantageous:
- Degree, diploma or similar qualification
- C#
- ASP.Net
- T-SQL for SQL Server
- HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, CSS
- MVC, WCF
- SOAP, REST
Package & Remuneration
Salary: A stipend as per the AppFactory agreement (5k-7k)
